It Pays to Shop

Most of the time, when it comes to most items on Amazon, things are more expensive than anywhere else, I find. So, the items I consistently buy are things I have determined are actually valued better. Bacon bits come to mind. I also buy my Omega-3 from Amazon, since it is considerably cheaper than at Walmart where I used to get them. When it comes to vitamin D, I usually get the Spring Valley value size, 400 count, 125 mcg (5,000IU) at Walmart for $12.48. We were getting low and I was about to put it on my list, and I said, "Wait. I haven't checked this one." So, I did, and lo and behold I found a 500 count bottle on Amazon for $9.99. And of course, I don't pay shipping because I have Prime, and to top things off I have a $50 gift certificate I can use which means... Essentially my vitamins were free. But when I buy them again, provided all prices remain the same, I found a way to save $2.49 every time I renew my vitamin D, or $12.30 per year based on our usage.

Although it sounds like a brag, it really is not, nor was it ever intended to be... I did not retire at 50 or achieve my wealth by accident. There's just no other way to put it. In my life I never made a lot of money. I just knew what to do with it, and minded every single penny like it was my last. I asked myself long ago, "What if I never got another paycheck in my life?" And then followed it up with another question. "What if I made it so that I'd never NEED another one?" I simply found my answers. I continue this practice today even when I do not need to. Because now I have a new question. "What if tomorrow I lost half my wealth?" I followed it with yet ANOTHER question. "What if I made it so that if I DID lose half my wealth tomorrow, it wouldn't matter?"

I found a way to get my vitamin D for free. It's called sunshine! LOL. Of course, I live in Florida where sunshine is abundant all year long!

It definitely pays to shop around. I’ve found on Amazon certain items like toilet paper and Bounty give us a subscribe option where we pay less than if we were to make a one-time purchase. It does help save money but then aren’t you left with too much of the stuff? No way will you use all of your toilet paper and Bounty by the time your next subscription order refill rolls around.
