Any one of the five songs presented the rest of this countdown could have been #1. So, theoretically, this is #1 parts A-E.
Today’s song starts off making you wonder what the heck is wrong with me. Patience, young Jedi.
Here we go with a song to rock out to, dance to, and anything else you want to do to!
#5: Feelin’ Stronger Every Day - Chicago
Once upon a time I HATED this song. You see, I was junior high marching band, and our band director thought it’d be cute for us to play this song while marching in the shape of barbells.
Needless to say, I got over it.
(Anyone who was in band in junior high/high school/middle school probably has a million horror stories.)
Yeah, this song doesn’t start like you’re going to be exhausted at the end of it, but you will be. As Picky Wedia quotes the review in Record World, “the last half of the record takes off into the ionosphere.” Yep, it does that. Once Terry Kath (pictured in the screen grab), one of rock’s most underrated guitarists ever, got warmed up, this song blasted off in a way that made NASA jealous.
I’ve never done a Chicago countdown, but this would be at or near the top. Yeah, I got over what our band director did to this song.
Feelin’ Stronger Every Day
Written by Peter Cetera and James Pankow
Recorded by Chicago
From Chicago VI, 1973
Song used last month: “If You Leave Me Now”
The best thing to happen to you, the best thing to happen to me:

I’m glad you like exploring these. Admittedly, I’m very U.S., popular music oriented, I know nothing of Marija Šerifovic.
