Pot-holders for friends

I am at the stage of my life where I’m trying to get rid of things rather than accumulate more. However, when we’re travelling, it’s nice to support the local communities that we pass through. When we went to Wongan Hills, I picked up these two pot-holders that were locally made. They will make nice Christmas gifts, simple and without being too in-your-face expensive. Fairy wrens are very common in most areas and are certainly well-loved. They become quite tame very quickly. There are two pot-holders in the photo, one above the other.

Pot holders are a good Christmas present, it's something we always need and those two are pretty.

@JudyEv - I often appreciate more small pretty gifts than large ones for which I have no use.

Sometimes you don't need a large gift but you do need something.

They are absolutely beautiful! I know what you mean about getting rid of things. I want to bring people to my apartment, show them around, and then say, okay, if you want something make me an offer!

I have some things I'd like to sell but postage is so expensive now and most of what I have to sell is breakable. I don't know why we thought we needed crystal decanters from both Waterford AND Galway!!

I think there is something to the idea of wanting to clear out things at a certain age. Over the past 5 years I have gotten rid of a lot of thing I thought I really needed. Turns out I am fine without them!

@eli908640 That's the point where I am. So many things I really, really wanted at the time and now I'd really like to be rid of them.

Aren't they lovely? It wasn't hard to purchase these. It might be harder to give them away.

Those a very beautiful pot holders. Whoever receives them I think will love them. That’s something I would buy from my mother in law. I too love to support local crafters.

They are tiny birds but will eat out of your hand quite readily compared with some birds.
