Hello everyone. I hope your day is going well. It is 53 degrees F and cloudy here at the Jersey Shore. It is dreary out there! The overnight temp is going to be the same and then it will get warmer tomorrow. Granted there is going to be a nor'easter but at least it will be warmer. Today was an absolutely stupid day at work. I mean I earned money so there's that but otherwise it was stupid. We spent 3 hours administering PSATs to the sophomores and juniors. We were done an hour early and just sat around playing on our phones. I teach sophomores so they would have revolted if I tried to teach anything after the testing. I showed a video to my 4th period class but they didn't like it so I gave up and had them color pictures of plant and animal cells for the last 2 classes. During my 6th period class a student left to go to the bathroom but immediately came back to tell me he had to go to one further away because there was a flood in the bathroom. Oh there was a flood alright. Water was pouring out of there and creeping down the hall toward where I was. It took them 30 minutes to figure out how to get it stopped and another half hour to finish cleaning it all up. The bonus was that it was right where my bathroom duty is so I didn't have to deal with that today. One good thing is that due to the nor'easter the Halloween costume contest and staff bake sale was moved to Friday. That gives me an extra day to work on the cake that I am making for it. Otherwise I would have been up at 4am tomorrow to get it done. I'll make the ganache for the frosting tonight since it needs to chill for 8 hours. I'll deal with the cakes and assembly tomorrow. I have 2 hours of tutoring this afternoon. . . if the student shows. He did log in last week but you never know. Yes I can use the money but honestly I won't be upset if he doesn't. What's everyone else up to this afternoon?
