Hello everyone. I hope your day is going well. It is 63 degrees F and raining here at the Jersey Shore. It was absolutely POURING about 40 minutes ago. The visibility was very poor. We were all doing 40 mph on a highway where people are typically going 70-80. It was actually scary. At one point I almost just pulled over to the shoulder.
Work was busy today. I had to attend a training for a new online test that we have to give in 2 weeks. It is so unbelievably complicated. I reeeeeeeeeeeeeeally hope that I am not an examiner for it because I won't be able to do it. I'm not even exaggerating.
@AmbiePam noticed that I didn't do my usual "good morning" post today. I woke up at 5am (alarm is set for 5:30) so I decided to do the ganache for the cake frosting. I had planned to do it last night but I didn't think I had enough heavy cream. This morning I decided to measure what I had on hand and I had more than enough so I just went for it. I am happy to have gotten it done because it has to chill for 6 hours before being whipped. If I had to make it this afternoon I would have had to get up early tomorrow to do that and assemble the cake. So I can get it all done this evening and not have to be stressed in the morning. (at least about the cake)
So that's my big plan for the afternoon/evening--baking the cakes, whipping the ganache, and assembling the cake. I also need to make dinner and whip up a marinade for a garlicky Cuban pork shoulder. I made it a couple of weeks ago and it was GOOD!
What's everyone else up to this afternoon?

I went to the gym, had another chat with Spectrum, found out that my regular mailman broke his arm, and have taken all my meds. Time for a nap!

Good afternoon... I had wondered about you this morning. I'm glad you were just busy. I was afraid you were sick.
Our high was predicted to be 55F this afternoon but we just reached 50 around 2 pm. (We started the day at 37F this morning.)
Pretty and I went shopping after her doctor appointment this afternoon... Or, rather, she went shopping. I got dizzy and fell walking toward the doors at Walmart so she helped me back to the car and did a minimum of shopping before coming back and I drove us home. (I'm in bed now and hoping I'll take a nap. I'm still dizzy.)
The app I used to transfer all my stuff from my old phone to the new one screwed up. It told me it had finished the transfer so, instead of checking it, I went ahead and factory reset my old phone and gave it to Pretty. Then discovered it hadn't transferred any of my contacts. 
I've put business contacts into the new phone by looking those up online but I'll have to go see friends and family to get their numbers back again or hope they'll call or text before I get around to visiting them. (Or, see how many of them my brother has that I can upload.)

I love a good pork shoulder. Nothing going on here today. Cousin #3 is finally coming over tomorrow morning.
