If you had your own website, what would the focus be?

If you decided to start a website, and there was nothing standing in your way, what would the subject matter be? Have you ever tried to start one? I know some of you have talked about starting your own site, and from reading your posts, I wish some of you would really do it. There are several solid ideas here.

It would probably be about crochet. That's all I do these days for three years now I think.

I had two blogs in the past one on making money online which had a small readership, and another on a previous cat I have. I don't know ow many people read that but it it amused me.

My husband had three and it was a lot of work and I had to help to update/upgrade all the time and I am glad he sold his sites. Should I decide to have one (NOT going to happen) it would be about real authentic Italian recipes.

@Dreamerby - To start a website, you have to choose a domain name and a website builder (like WordPress). Next, choose a hosting provider, design your site using a template, and add your content. Test your site and launch it online. Ongoing costs, including hosting, domain name, and maintenance, range from $5 to $30 per month for a personal site.

I've never wanted to start my own website. I KNOW how much work goes into designing/running a website and am not interested in putting in that much thought and labor into it.

I used to have a website with movie reviews. I don't know what I would have now. I'd have to think about that.

I’ve never started one, but it’s fun to imagine. I think I’d go for something cozy and community based, maybe a place for people to share personal stories or everyday reflections.

I did have my own website, on GeoCities... until Yahoo got rid of that free service. I had my artwork on it, and my family tree, gardening stuff, and I forget what else.

I would love a cooking site, especially gluten free dishes.

Gluten free is really big right now with people who aren’t even afflicted with celiac disease or gluten averse. People are discovering just how much better a person can feel without it.

@AmbiePam I think it's definitely a healthier way to eat. Plain meats, veggies, fruit.

I did have a go at starting one, I think it might have been after someone - it may well have been you - suggested it. It was intended to be about one of my favourite topics, of making, mending, and repurposing things. I guess it was a rather half-hearted attempt because I couldn't seem to get it to look the way I wanted, I posted on there three or four times and absolutely nobody read it so it's just kind of sidelined because I have so many other things going on! Really I need lessons.

You were one of the ones that came to mind who would be good with their own website. If people knew about it plenty would have read it because you’re so inventive, and it’s definitely interesting.

If I were to start my own website I guess it would be money saving tips, best apps to use, offers, ways to make money online. Household hints and tips. I would also like to do reviews of items, places, clothes etc .

I love doing reviews. I’ve been lucky to get to review things for Amazon they give me for free.

@Traceyjayne They have this program called Amazon Vine, and they invite people to join where they offer you all kinds of things to review, and in exchange they give them to you for free. I get a lot of earrings, clothes, and candles, but then I’ve also gotten things like luggage (talked about in my last post), a vacuum, a mattress, and side tables. For someone with so little money it is appreciated.
