He literally is hiding from me

The creep neighbor, Smokey McSmokerson, has been hiding from me for the past couple of months. We stopped speaking back in the spring after he made up crazy lies about things I said on 2 separate occasions. I don't care. It doesn't affect my life in any way. 4 times now he has opened the door, seen me coming/going/talking to a neighbor and has immediately closed the door. He did it this morning as I was leaving for work. He knows my usual schedule so he makes sure he smokes *before* I'm on the move. I left a bit early today so he opened the door, saw me, and closed it. I laughed loud enough for him to hear me. I couldn't help myself. By the time I was down in the parking lot he was on the landing smoking. I don't know why he is hiding. I'm not going to say anything to him. It makes him look like a, well, a word that is used to describe a cat.
