Turned out to be a good call buying the 150 pice bag of candy. We got five or six kids today which was about what I'd expected. Our street is dimly lit, our house being the bright spot in the dark. I'm sure there were parties and other things going on, but still good to see some activity this year.

I never get any kids where I live. It's set back and there's a nursery on one side and no close neighbors.

@kaylachan Not hidden but the kiddos would have to make a special trip to stop by my door. They go on the more developed streets with houses next to each other.

We have the same issue here. The kids just don't come up our street, probably because we are butted against a main highway. One year we had 300 pieces of candy and three kids showed. Never again. We leave our porch light off.

We have a curch/school just down the road from us that has events going on usually. It was actually odd seeing homes normally lit up so dark. Our street itself is narrow, so dimly lit is not the way to go. Even with two porch lights our house must've looked like a beacon.

@porwest I think it's the way America's becoming, more and more paranoid.

Apartments and some neighborhoods often discourage it. Even as a kid, my family would go out of our way to make our home seem uninviting.

I imagine you have many leftover candies at home now.

I'm sorry you didn't get many kids...but now you have lots of snacks...This was our first year living in a place that celebrated Halloween. So many kids. Golf Carts taking them to get candy. So many little ones. One little girl in Pink was shy until our Motion controlled Ghost made an eerie sound. She just grinned from ear to ear, pointed at the Plastic Ghost, and as they left yelled THANK YOU! Babies in strollers dressed lik teddy bears and Spider man. So much fun..then there were teens who were nice and only took a coupled of pieces. But the best was having young boys telling me God Bless You. Gave me Chills...you just don't think about young kids saying something like that.
