Amazon Delivered the Goods

No, I didn't order anything from Amazon. Well, not unless you count the Vitamin D and cat food that showed up recently—both courtesy of a $50 gift card from a source I won't name (lest the myLot vampires sniff it out and stake my post through the heart).
What I did receive, however, was a much more exciting delivery.
Well, maybe unless you ask the cats, of course. I am sure that food was rather exciting for them.
I'm talking about a hefty gain in Amazon stock. As in, from the stock market.
Yes, I own shares of Amazon. And yes, I read The Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham like it was scripture—especially chapters 8 and 20, which I recommend to anyone who wants to invest.
Friday's market close was a pleasant surprise. Amazon stock jumped nearly $22 a share, landing at $244.22 and notching a new 52-week high.
That kind of move doesn’t happen every week, and while it may give up some of those gains in the short term, I believe the long-term value is far greater than that price tag honestly.
In other words, shares are still a buy here.
Needless to say, Amazon delivered the goods. And while I won’t be cashing out anytime soon, it’s nice to see the portfolio get a little sunshine nonetheless. "On paper" is fine by me.
So, fellow myLotters. Any recent wins in your stock market adventures?

@LooeyVille Ah. I would find that frustrating. I have a hard time "disconnecting" from the stock market. Partly, I guess, because it is such a huge part of my livelihood.

You definitely know what you’re doing. Is Amazon considered a great stock?

Can't say that I have, but that's good to hear you're doing well.

It comes with knowledge, and I don't say that in any condescending way. Long, long ago I saw people making money in the markets and wanted to know why. So, I learned what I could and it's worked out for me.
As I always say, earn as much as you can, live frugally, save and invest, and let your money eventually take over the heavy lifting.

There was just a stock split; but I can't remember which stock now. Congrats on the Amazon gain. Nvidia is now a $3 trillion company? Or was that $5 trillion? Do I remember that correctly?

Don't play the stock market myself. I do have a couple of things coming from Amazon this week, though.

All of my stocks, mutual funds and other investments have been returning solid gains all year. None of my individual stocks made as nice of a jump as Amazon did, but I've been impressed with my portfolio increases this year. And kudos to you on the big increase in Amazon share price. Wouldn't it be nice if that huge gain not only stuck, but continued to increase from there?
I own a copy of The Intelligent Investor. It's a great book. Haven't read it in a hot minute, I might pull it back out soon and re-read it.
