So much to marvel at at Baladjie Rock

I’ve done another collage of some of the interesting formations we saw at Baladjie Rock. Upper left is a cavern-type affair which has been hollowed out by wind and rain I guess. As you can see, it towers over Vince’s head. Upper right and lower left are little pools that were full of water at the time. They will dry up once summer comes. Lower right shows some indentations that intrigued me. The hollows are all circular. You’d wonder how they came to be washed out in these shapes. All these wonderful rock formations are nearly enough to make me want to take up geology.

They're very interesting. Those rock shelves with water in/under them would make me think the rock might collapse under me.

Yes, we were careful where we stood although it may not look very much like it. They could have been eaten away further than we could see.

Those are so cool! And I agree with you: when you see those and they're all circular while there's so many different shapes elsewhere you wonder how!

I noticed the circles right away. I know you will let us know if you learn what it is

@JudyEv That one is even stranger. Especially since nature prefers curves.

We went to the Giant's Causeway in Ireland and all the stones there are hexagonal. Another mystery - to me at least.
