Well, I was going out for a couple of days of foliage viewing, but instead I had to donate to the cause. ’Cause I need homeowners insurance and ’cause I need car insurance and ’cause I have property taxes. So I’ll take a drive through Cherokee Park instead and enjoy this song as I go. Hope you enjoy it, too! Grazing in the Grass - Hugh Masekela Hey, more cowbell!! I said that there were 25 instrumentals to top the Billboard pop chart, and this is one of them. Hugh Masekela (1939-2018) was the first South African to top the Billboard chart. After this was a big hit, Harry Elston of the group The Friends of Distinction wrote lyrics to it, and The Friends of Distinction made it a hit again in 1969. Elston passed away earlier this year. The 60s were loaded with trumpets, and this was one of the successful songs of that era. Grazing in the Grass Written by Philemon Hou Recorded by Hugh Masekela From The Promise of a Future, 1968 Much slower than the vocal version, but hey!
