This young nurse practitioner who is mother-in-law's new primary care provider is so caring and wonderful. She specializes in gerontology.
Mother-in-law still has no clue what's going on. She doesn't realize she has Alzheimers. She doesn't realize she's depressed.
The doctor has prescribed her Zoloft to help with mood for anxiety and depression. The family and doctor agreed that no dementia medication was going to help at this point.
She had a good time at lunch and got to see @FourWalls who she still thinks is a "pistol". When @FourWalls walked away, mother-in-law said, "She must be really rich because she travels so much." Hahahaha.
Anyway, mother-in-law was happy to have a day out and was in good spirits.

Pleased that she enjoyed her day. It’s great to have a caring practitioner ….they are not all like that.

It’s good to see her. The only rich in my life has been Don Rich (who’ll show up in the countdown later).

I am glad she enjoyed her outing with you and your husband. All you can do is your best for her, and it seems that is what you are doing. I hope the medicine helps. I know it’s not a cure but if it helps with her anxiety that’s a big deal.

That sounds like a worthwhile visit. Medicines to slow the progression of Alzheimers help tremendously My dad has been on them for years. Of course the disease ending is the same, but if you want her around..that is the way to go.IMHO.
