Every few weeks my Mom and her neighbour Barbara get together and go out for lunch and then have a little shopping trip.
As I’ve been off work and staying with Mom for a while I sometimes go with them.
Barbara rang today and arranged with Mom that we would go out tomorrow.
So, I have spent some time this evening looking at the menu’s at some of the local restaurants / pubs. A lot of places have started their Festive Christmas menu now. We are not particularly interested in that at the moment but it’s good to know what new meals they have on the menu.
I’m also hoping to get a few things as Christmas presents.

Starters usually a soup, baked cheese or pate with toast
Usually for mains it’s Turkey ( that’s what we traditionally have for Christmas dinner here in the UK ), roasted veggies, Yorkshire puddings and pigs in blankets.
Pudding is usually Christmas pudding or mince pie ( mincemeat for a mince pie is chopped fruits with spices and suet ).

@Traceyjayne Mincemeat pie is rare here, but I really like it.

@Traceyjayne That's the mincemeat pies we used to have for Thanksgiving and Christmas desserts, too. One slice is usually enough for me for a year.
It's good but I just don't want any more for a while.

@traceyjayne Christmas menus already? How utterly depressing. Here they are starting to talk about the ‘Christmas Chip’ in cafes. A big plate of chips with cocktail sausages, cranberry sauce, stuffing and the likes.

That sounds like a fun time.
I hope you all enjoy yourselves.
I woke up around 3 pm and heard Pretty moving around, too, so I asked if she'd like to go do a little grocery shopping this afternoon. She asked if I thought I could see well enough to drive. Then I realized everything was blurry. She said my eyes were barely open and she didn't know how I was walking around without stumbling and hanging onto things... So no shopping for us today.
When I had to ask her to check to see if the ground beef was cooked through, I had to agree, I can't see well enough to drive. *sigh*

Talking about restaurants and pubs is making me hungry. I have 2 hours to go until lunch.
