I'm So Relieved to Find a PCP

I got after it earlier and went on the Humana website looking for a new Primary Care Physician. It's that time of year. I was bummed too because I have heard some horror stories about how awful other PCPs have been. But my present doctor is dropping Humana in 2026. I had checked last week for a new insurance, thinking I would try to stay with my present doctor. I really did try. Phone calls back and forth to check and see they would except this or that. Checking their website. I spent two days doing that.
Well, today I think I found it. I had found three facilities that sounded good that take Humana. But this one caught my eye. It is ' Keystone Center for Geriatrics'. What?! Does that not sound like the perfect one or what? I called. The receptionist was very nice. One of the questions she asked sealed the deal. She asked if I wanted house calls or in the office. She asked me this. (If you know my history you know that I am house bound, have social anxiety and have been negotiating with my present doctor for several years to use telehealth for my annual Wellness. Even had to do the same to get them to send out a nurse to do my blood. Yeah, I'm difficult.)
Hey, I just turned 74. I think it might be time for me to start getting some geriatric care. I am an old person physically. And a nut case mentally.
She is sending paperwork out and we will see how it all goes. I'm rather excited.

I hope it works well for you. There comes a time when our body does not do what we want. I´m almost bedridden here and part of it is that during the pandemia I stayed alone indoors.

Alone is nice sometimes but not for a long time.

That sounds like a great solution. I hope it works out for you. I wish we had something like that.

I wish you did too. You may be one of the ones I was referring to. Some folks don't have access to good PCPs.

@celticeagle I like my PCP; but she doesn't do TeleHealth appointments or come to the house.

Dude, that actually sounds kinda perfect for you. Crazy how hard it is to find a doctor that actually fits, but sounds like you might’ve lucked out this time.
