Not only are owning rare and pure-bred cat breeds a luxury but they are valued for their beauty, rarity and genetic uniqueness. Some breeds cost thousands, others tens of thousands. But this isn't just for their looks. As experts explain, some require strict pedigree certifications, controlled breeding environments, and specialized care. Here are some rare and magnificent breeds: The Ashera is considered the rarest cats in the world and can cost up to $125,000. They are bred to resemble a small leopard. The Toyger is bred to resemble the tiger with a striking stripe patterned coat. These rare cats are priced at $5,000. The Ragdoll is named this way for going limp when you hold them like a ragdoll. They are highly desirable because of their calm nature and soft fur. They are priced between $1,500 and $5,000. The Maine Coon is one of the largest domestic breeds. It has a friendly personality as well as a majestic coat. One with championship lines can go for between $4,000 and $6,000. Then there is the Savannah, the Bengal, the Percian, the Peterbald from Russia, the Sphynx, the Scottish Fold, and the Russian Blue. The picture is from my collection.

Ragdolls are popular here. They do seem a lovely breed.

Yes, they do. I tend to like short haired cats better. The three of us have enough hair ourselves.

I would never give that kind of money for a cat

As you know from what I wrote no more cats for me. However, they have robotic cats now that act and look like real ones but I would find it creepy to have such a cat, Better for small children to enjoy thme if their parents don't want real cats around,
