Got a freebie cake ….what did I choose ?

So, in Lidl , if you use their app, when you spend £10 in a month you get a free cake …. £10 is not much really and last week we had a chicken for Sunday lunch, mince pies, wrapping paper and hand cream ( that was a Christmas present for a friend ) , so we easily spent that £10.
Today when we went we were disappointed to see that they hadn’t got the apple turnovers that both Mom and I like. They are quite big so we usually share one.
Anyway, I had to choose something else and today as my freebie I had a chocolate and hazelnut croissant. It looks nice …I will have that after dinner . ( Mom doesn’t like nuts so she doesn’t want to share today ).

I don't use apps to shop so have no idea if they offer freebies.

I get that offer too. I usually choose something for the girls. They used to be obsessive about the choc hazelnut doughnuts but those seem to have changed and they have switched their allegiance to the croissant (like you) or the choc twist.

I would normally choose a chocolate muffin but Mom has made muffins and she doesn’t do chocolate really, but we both like the apple turnover , and I’d rather have something we can share ….trust us to go on the day they haven’t got any. Never mind….

I haven't had any freebies in quite a while. A couple of years ago I think I got a free dessert from Red Lobster.
