Yesturday I had a couple of pies that were totally free as I was able to claim the money back for them…..they are individual pies and should be £3.75 each ….so £7.50 for the two ….not a bad saving. They are also made by a famous pie company so even better deal. They are slow cooked beef and ale pies. The Mister is cooking them now …. We are having chips, peas and gravy with the pies. What are you having for your tea ?

Well, I just had lunch, and it was delicious fried chicken from Popeye’s. That’s the best chicken chain in the United States.

@Traceyjayne That’s disappointing. It’s much better in the U.S., while KFC here is really bad.

I'm sorry... Doesn't your man know how to cook something besides peas? (Personally, I wouldn't want the gravy, either. ) I don't know. Late lunch is around 5 pm and dinner or supper are several hours after that.

Yes, he is a good cook. Must admit we spend so little time at home at mealtimes I don't often have fresh veg in. At the moment because I'm at Mom's in the week I only cook one day a week so only have enough veg for that day ....we rarely eat in on a Saturday....this was only because I got free pies yesterday.

@Traceyjayne We're home all the time but usually only have onions, potatoes, sweet peppers, carrots and fruits of different kinds. We use a lot of canned veggies, like green beans, corn, beets, tomatoes and hominy. Free pies are always good.

@DaddyEvil the only canned veg we have is sweetcorn. The pies were good and all the better for being free.

Your post reminded me how much I miss the very hot steak and kidney pies I used buy so early in the morning at that lovely little bakery in Peckham. Good memories. Tea here? Some Yank rubbish.

There are pies and pies. Some are good but others can be pretty ordinary.

Yes, we tend to have those that my Mom makes but as these were free we thought we would try them. They were lovely.

I had half of a frozen dinner, chicken/broccoli/pasta. I will have the other half today.
