I'm Fine Part One

This will be a two parter. Well, it has to be since there are two audio files, and I can only link to one at a time. The limits of myLot, I suppose. But here's the deal. I have been playing around a little bit with AI for my music, now that it is capable of covering original music. Something it wasn't able to do a short while ago. I have written many songs over the past 30 years or so. Some okay. Some good. And (although I may be biased) some bangers. From time to time, I share them. When I can, of course, because some of my music is monetized, and of course, that's a no-no here. But, what I wanted to show you is a song I wrote back in 2005 called, "I'm Fine," that I just recorded a demo version of and never finished. It lives in what I call the "garbage files." It's not a bad song. I just didn't like it enough at the time to do an actual "release" version of it because I wasn't sure I really liked it. In any event, I want to share the original version so that when I share the AI version, at least there's something to compare it to in order to get the gist of what AI does, and what it is capable of doing. In any event, here's, "I'm Fine."

AI can also turn images into videos that look realistic and this was proven when my brother made a funny video about cats fighting over fish in a fish pond.

There are a lot of things I have concerns with over AI, but like most technology, there are good and bad sides to it. Some of the videos are becoming so realistic it's almost scary.

@porwest even AI can brighten up a completely blurry image. AI is also starting to learn to recognize money, they don't want to work if we don't give them money.

@May2k8 If they let AI become TOO intelligent, it will definitely want a payday. We have been warned. lol

I like it. It's different, but not bad. I used to DJ at an alternative rock station

Oh, that would be a cool job. I almost went into radio. It was something I thought I wanted to do. But yeah, this was a bit of a departure of "styles" for me, and like I said, was just something I was playing around with and recorded the demo to see if I wanted to go a different direction with it. Hang around for the AI version. It's "polished" I think.

Made an account to listen, and I will say I don't think it was bad and should not be in the "garbage files".

Thanks, and glad you were able to find a way to listen to it. It was, of course, a demo, not that if it weren't it might be necessarily better. lol

How and why did this end up in the garbage files? I really like it.

@porwest Maybe the timing wasn't right. Sometimes music is ahead of its time, or the genre is not in style. I think what you put together was pretty awesome.

@moffittjc Thanks again. I mean, this song was written in 2005. Not sure how it may have fit in the "grander order" back then. Or where it might fit today, even. But who knows? After running it through AI and hearing sort of what I would have been going for, it does change my mind a little bit. It makes me think, at least, that it has quite a bit more foundation than I ever gave it credit for.

Thanks. I guess sometimes we are our worse critics. I remember doing the demo, putting it on the back burner, and just never did anything with it after that. And then I must have filed it somewhere in my brain that if I wasn't compelled to do anything further with it soon after I did the demo, it was probably best relegated for the garbage files. Perhaps I got that one wrong?

I don’t think that it belongs in the garbage files.
