The photo has nothing to do with the post but is of a metal cut-out of a willie wagtail seen at my cousin’s garden. A man who moved to Australia from South Africa in 2022 has had his visa cancelled after he attended a Neo-Nazi rally at NSW parliament house. Matthew Gruter was among around 60 men who attended a protest organised by Neo-Nazi group, National Socialist Network. The group displayed a banner reading ‘Abolish the Jewish lobby’. They were chanting ‘blood and honour’, a slogan associated with Hitler Youth. Minister for Home Affairs Tony Burke said: it was time to go home. If you are on a visa you are a guest. If you're a citizen you're a full member of the Australian family. Like with any household, if a guest turns up to show hatred and wreck the household, they can be told it's time to go home. I was pleased to hear this. It seems a positive step in curtailing the activities of some of these hate-filled groups. It's a fine line between freedom of speech and protecting innocent people sometimes.

It is still surprising that this organization continues to exist and endure in the present time and historical context. History has repeatedly demonstrated that Nazism has never been a justifiable path and that racism is fundamentally unacceptable. Yet, this ideology persists among us, despite the profound tragedies and suffering such beliefs have inflicted upon humanity.

That's so true. And these organisations seem to be becoming more and more daring with their public protests, etc. Let's hope Australia can get rid of a few more of these loathsome individuals.

@JudyEv It is encouraging to see the government taking serious measures to halt the spread of hatred among its people. History has shown that embracing individuals of all races, creeds, and skin colors is the true path toward peace and prosperity. No race is inherently superior or inferior, provided that everyone is given equal opportunities to grow, learn, and thrive as human beings. Ensuring equality in rights and opportunities fosters mutual respect, understanding, and harmony within society.

@rsa101 That's so true but it does seem difficult to achieve.

People who condone what the Nazi party did in Europe do not belong in your nation.

That's very true. They spread a lot of hate and the world doesn't need that.

Hopefully we can keep out a few of those who are only out to spread hate. I was very tempted to steal that little bird!

I like the picture. Spreading hate is not good or right. He should be kicked out of your country.

I think it might come as a shock to him. He was sponsored by a big company. I guess they won't be pleased.

There's already too much hate in the world. I'm glad his visa was cancelled. That's a cute bird.
