Have to reschedule.

Well Wire 3 called me about half an hour ago because they are having technocal issues. the tech couldn't do anything, because the system is struggeling. I guess it's a good thing, because I need it to work. Whatever, I'll just wait for them to try and reschedule. They're desperate for the work, because everyone has bills to pay. I get it.
On the other hand, I managed to put some more money into paypal. I put in a little everyday, and while it's a few pennies to a few dollars, it ads up. I actually have money left over at the end of the month. Something I'm greatful for. Even with me losing medicade.
With the tube removal the day after tomorrow, I don't know who's more nervous. George or me. Although I think it's me.
George on the other hand, is scaring me. He wants it out so bad, that he basically said he doesn't care if it kills him. He's aware, but he doesn't want another tube. It puts me in a tough position of honoring his wishes, and risk losing him, or doing what's right to keep him going. It's not an easy place to be in.

I think maybe you could call his doctor’s office and see if they can possibly talk to him? I know that you know him better than anyone else does, but still—he may hate the tube but he seems to like his life more now that he gets out and about. What a snarl…I’m sorry

George knows that he could die without the tube, that's the problem. I want to think he's saying that ut of anger and frustration, because we're going on two years. Having something stuck in you for any ammount of time isn't comfortable... but imagine it going on two years, starting to fail and he's scratching at his skin around the site, because its raw and irriated. He wants that to go away, too but that's hard with what I've got to work with.
What are they going to tell him, that they haven't already?

@MarieCoyle The problem is, is he's never been good at eating. I suspect he has an undiagnosed eating disorder. He spent his entire adult life making bad choices and barely eating. Maybe one complete meal a day, two if he was up to it. Now, it's grazing on snacks and sometimes hotdogs. If I hadn't given him antibotics he wouldn't have had yogert twice a day. Now he's off of it, he's been asking for it in the morning, so that's something.
But.... I've been batteling dehydration. And random bouts of pain that seem to be resolved by flushing his tube at night. Although those are rare. It's been an exercises in patience. All his doctors tell him, is the same old thing: if they take it out too soon he could get sick and end up back in the hospital.

Probably nothing, I was just thinking they could possibly help out somehow. Just grasping at a few straws here for you. I am sure he is sick of the tube, but if he doesn't eat enough to sustain himself without it, I can also see why you are so concerned.

I hope the tube removal goes well and no complications. I know this is a tough one and I hope George is ready for it and to eat better!
Wouldn't hurt to see if the doctor could talk to him before surgery, like Marie said below. You never know...he might relate to the doctor. Good luck; I'm sending prayers! (for both of you!)

Just like I told Marie, the doctor won't say anything that others already haven't already. George knows and understands that if the tube isn't replaced he's going to rely on his ability to eat and drink. Which is exactly what every medical professional has told him from the first time he started asking to get the tube removed back in Febuary of 2024. Most of them didn't have the ability to remove the tube, it has to be done under safe conditions.
He wants this to be one of those things where the doctor does what you ask them to do. But, if the doctor doesn't think it's medically safe, they won't. And both doctors and nurses have told him this.

I put what I can in PayPal too. Nice to have a little extra at times. All the time really.
You are sure in a tough place right now.
