No chasing grass for these sheep

The photo shows one of the paddocks on our old farm. You can see two different types of sheep-feeders. The sheep seem to have all chosen the same feeder but It’s because they haven’t registered the sound of the ute/pickup. The sheep from the other feeders have all run off. As we’re approaching summer, there isn’t much natural feed in the paddocks. They are watered from a dam which is downhill from these feeders. Sometimes water is pumped by windmill from the dam into troughs. It can be a regular chore to check that windmills are working correctly so that the stock do not run out of water.

@wolfgirl569 For sure and windmills/ball cocks can all fail too.

Self-feeders and automatic watering have helped a lot.

I think so too. I'm sorry we had to give up all our pets when we came here.

Poor sheep there is not a lot to eat there, but I see they have everything they need.

The landscape looks so dry and harsh. Love the sheep.
