In lieu of Black Friday the big town here..(There are two a larger and smaller one) are having a buy nothing swap. I think that is a great idea and environmentally responsible. I would like to go to that. Of course our Capitalistic economy needs Black Friday, but cutting down on buying would definitely help the environment. Besides it would be fun and something different. Is your community doing something similar.

That would be interesting, but difficult to put into action. We would need a website, also most mylotters probably wouldn't be keen on putting down a lot of personal info.

It would be exciting to see what was there and to be able to get rid of some things.

You are right that swapping would be a great help to protect the environment. Now we also have the problem to get rid of tons of cheap clothes that people buy, wear during a few months and throw. It was better in the past, better quality that lasted.

I haven't heard of anything like that around here but it does sound like it would be a good idea.

I went to a swap last year, but it was in the fall. It was fun. It was also well attended.
