An ow whose wings that was found partially encased inside of a cement mixer at a construction site in Salt Lake City Utah is making a recovery at the Best Friends Animal Society. Wild Friend Supervisor Bart Richwalski who was part of the rescue team that brought in the owl to be treated at the animal society hospital mentioned that the wings of the owl was around 25 percent of its body covered in dry concrete. The owl was given baths while the owl was under anesthesia so that the owl will be on the road to fly again in the spring of 2026. How did the owl wind up in the cement mixer is anyone's guess. Thankfully the owl will able to enjoy the rest of its life once again. Link is kutv.com/news/local/owl...

I think it would be difficult to get concrete off a bird.

The veterinarian did have to put the owl to sleep via anesthesia so that water could be used to remove the cement particles on the wing.

It might have been worse, if that truck had been full of wet concrete, and the owl was fortunate to survive and the rescue team did a great job there, saving the live of that poor owl.

The veterinarians are saying that the owl was lucky to be alive when he or she was taken into the animal hospital.

I read about this. The concrete must have been very hard to remove. I'm glad it will be able to be released next year.

I am also happy that the owl will be on the mend to recovery from the wing being caught in cement.
