I Knew There Was Something Special About Mark Twain

I have always been a fan of Mark Twain. He was a great storyteller and such an interesting character with such a concise look at life. I remember my mother reading "Tom Sawyer" to me when I was 4 or 5. She continued that practice with my daughter reading such short stories as ""The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County" to her. But what I didn't know until recently was that he was obsessed with cats. On the subject he wrote: " “If man could be crossed with the cat it would improve man, but it would deteriorate the cat.” He favored the cat over people which I applaud and quite often feel the very same. At one point he had 19 felines, and he gave them such names as Beelzebub, Blatherskite and Buffalo Bill.
