It is Black Friday! Are you shopping?

I have no idea why I am awake in the middle of the night but here I am. . . It is now officially Black Friday which in the US is the day after our Thanksgiving holiday. Stores have big sales to encourage people to buy stuff for Christmas. I don't buy for many people these days. I already did a 6 month "Tour of Italy" subscription for my mother, sister, and BIL. All I need is to figure out things for my niece and nephew. I also send something to my ex for his birthday which is just before Christmas. I'm not stressed about presents or buying things and I'm definitely not one of those nuts who is going out in the middle of the night to buy stuff. Will you be buying presents today?

Pretty was looking for a new smart watch for herself but wasn't finding one she liked. We don't buy presents anymore. I hope you can get to sleep or back to sleep soon. I spent most of my day cooking, eating and napping. I'm tired and may not be on myLot during the night like I usually am.

Tell her to just get an Apple Watch. I've had one for years and LOVE it! I have the version that is even connected to cellular so I can make/answer calls on it.

@NJChicaa Thank you for the recommendation but we don't buy/use Apple products. We both have Androids.

I’m kind of disappointed in myself this year. I think every gift I’m giving this year is something I got for free (with the exception of the Christmas cards). That doesn’t mean I’m not putting a lot of thought into what to give who, but usually for Black Friday I have enough survey money to buy a few specific things for people. This year was just a bit tougher. But hey, I MIGHT get $100 from a class action settlement for my local hospital “letting” hackers steal my personal information.

A gift is a gift. It is the thought that counts not how much you spent on it.

I give gift cards to the family. And already bought my husband's presents. So no black Friday shopping for me.

In a word, no. I have promised to take Little One to the shops but that's only because she has an official day off school today (teacher training), the black Friday thing is just a coincidence. And I don't mean to be rude but I really wish the UK didn't just follow the US so much. Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving; of course Thanksgiving is not a celebration here but now we have to have black Friday!

@NJChicaa Not any more. Not long ago I was talking to a friend (mum of one of Little One's friends) about how I learned to ride a motorbike in the supermarket car park on a Sunday because that was before Sunday opening - she looked at me like I came from the Ark - she's younger than me

I remember being amazed back in the day when I studied abroad in England that shops were mostly closed by 5pm and totally on Sundays.

No. I purchased the 3 gift cards that I needed; and I don't need or want anything else.
