One more day and here comes December. Oh, all those aching memories. The holiday always started with the First Advent, which is tomorrow, and Martin and I would go into the woods to get evergreens to make an Advent wreath and attach four candles to be lit each Advent Sunday leading up to Christmas. I have chosen all you lucky friends to be witness to my series of my favorite Christmas songs. I will start out with the sad ones.
“Pretty Paper” is a song written by American country music singer and songwriter Willie Nelson. It was made into a hit and a Christmas standard by Roy Orbison, and believe me, when Orbison sings this song, all the wrapped presents under a tree seem to glow with pretty paper and with silver tears.

@LaduDuck hope you liked it, Some of the wreath we made were with holly brnaches. I also miss my garden and especially the big tall oak we had there I fondly called Henry,

@RasmaSandra - I loved so much my holly tree, I also had a dwarf pomegranate and those small fruits were also great to decorate. I am sure you also miss your garden.

I love that song, too. But Roy Orbison is my second favorite singer after Don Williams.
