Memories From My Childhood ~ An Uncle Fred Find

When I was a young girl and living at my grandparent's place, I remember helping unload my uncle Fred's truck many times when he had gotten lumber bits from the sawmill for my grandparent's burning stove in the winter months. But I especially remember one time when my uncle had brought home some pine tree remnants, he had found in the forest somewhere. This one particular piece he took to my grandmother directly and we all marveled over it. It was a pine branch with several pinecones still attached. The limb had naturally grown curved around into the shape of a rudimentary and not quite perfectly round wreath. It was one of those once in a lifetime finds a person only like my uncle would have had an eye to see and think to bring home to his mother. I wish I had a picture of it, but we still had party lines then(1950s) and cell phones weren't in existence quite yet. So, the only one available is in my mind.

It's amazing the shapes nature can provide sometimes with branches and suchlike.
