Jackfruits in India are eaten both as a fruit and also as a vegetable. Although it is a summer vegetable it extends to monsoon season. In the monsoon season in the forests of the east they bulge out in the trees. They have huge gum also. In bengali we call it kanthal as fruit and enchor as vegetable.

Does Sathvik climb the trees to get some or does he stand at the bottom and catch them when they fall?
I've never tried jackfruits. They do grow in a few places here but not close to me.

I've never tried these. I think they sell them in the supermarket but I'm not even sure about that.
