Pretty Made a Curbside Order...

I can't see well enough to drive so Pretty made a curbside order for Walmart. My brother went and picked it up for us but when we were putting everything away, we had a pack of fried chicken we didn't order. Pretty called Walmart to ask what we should do with it and the person who answered the phone just said, "Merry Christmas!" and explained once we had it in our possession, Walmart couldn't accept it back.
We had to rearrange the contents of the fridge and freezer to make enough room for the fried chicken.
I guess getting free fried chicken isn't a bad thing.

Hey! Long time, no see! You should stop by and help me eat it, then.
I hope you've been doing well, buddy!
Nothing much happening here. Just having a good time hara... Uhm... visiting with people on myLot, like always.

@DaddyEvil - I'm just enjoying my current seasonal break from employment. Trying to do things that need doing.

Yes, it was. And, since Pretty won't eat fried chicken, I've been enjoying it.

How nice! Not for whoever ordered it though. This time of year can be such fun.
How are your eyes? Getting better or just being how they are?

@celticeagle I always wonder why people who are hungry don't grab some of those turkeys.

Yeah, if we knew who the person was, we'd take the chicken to them.
They're swollen today and won't stop watering. *shrug* That's normal anymore.

We don't have a cat or a dog. I'm allergic to furry pets.

@May2k8 You may not have known. I don't mention it very often. We do have fishies in an aquarium but that's the only pets I've had since I moved out of my parent's home when I was 18 years old.

@DaddyEvil - I am glad that they give you back your money, they should have a way to check what they delivered.

@LadyDuck They aren't delivering anything. We don't have delivery in my city. They have curbside pickup and we ask my brother to pick up our groceries when I can't see and Pretty doesn't feel well. Otherwise, my brother will take Pretty shopping.
They should have records of what was ordered and what was posted to curbside pickup.

True. We have had missing items before. Walmart gives us back our money without a quibble when that happens.

What a treat! That was so nice of your brother going to pick up your order. I love fried chicken and rarely get it. I think I know what tomorrow may be for dinner since it will be late getting back. We can go by the deli at the store and grab some. My grandkids will love it.

My brother helps us out when we really need it. He's usually there when I can't see to drive.
I don't make fried chicken because it always popped me with hot grease when I did cook it so we don't get it very often. I LOVE fried chicken!
I hope the work on your truck doesn't take long and you still get some delicious fast food for supper.

@noni1959 I understand. I'd take a book to read or read an ebook on my phone. That's what I always do when we're stuck in a doctor's waiting room for hours.
We just had the motor on our Buick rebuilt. We bought it ten years ago but it was an older vehicle then. It's been good to us so we paid $1700 for the rebuild. That's not bad at all. It should last years more.
I used to love driving winding roads but avoid them no if there's any other way to get somewhere. The Ozarks are full of small, windy roads. My vision isn't what it used to be and the roads seem smaller all the time.

@DaddyEvil I love fried chicken, but agree cooking it is awful for popping! I told my son I want to get it after my truck is picked up. I have to leave it all day for the drive train and booster. It's an "ouch" repair, but she's been good to me since I bought her new in 2013, so this being her first major is OK. My son is following me and we'll go to his storage, drive through the state park near there, and maybe lunch. Killing six hours is going to be tough but driving all the way back and turn around again is a waste of gas. It's 23 miles there but takes 35 to 40 minutes to drive since it's a small winding road.

Well that was a lucky break for you guys. My husband loves fried chicken. Curbside pickup and delivery options are so wonderful I’m so glad since the pandemic we now have these options available to us. I’m proud of you and pretty being so honest to call them and let them know the mistake. Someone likely ordered that and didn’t get it and will be complaining

@DaddyEvil we are to far for delivery from Walmart as well. Through Amazon we can have orders delivered from Weis but that store is higher priced and wouldn’t have all we would want to order.

@shaggin We can get deliveries from Amazon but not fresh or frozen foods, just canned or dried stuff.
There is a higher priced store 3 blocks away from us we could walk to but... *shrug*

We were worried the people at curbside pickup would have to pay for the chicken but the person we talked to said Walmart would absorb the price as it was an honest mistake.
I wish Walmart could deliver here! There are a lot of times I can't see to go pick stuff up and my brother is too busy or out of town.
Pretty won't eat fried chicken but I sure will!

A couple of years ago something like that happened with my online grocery delivery. They added a big piece of pork then.. I yelled "thank you" to the air.

The tag on it said D. Moore ordered it. I don't know why it was given to my brother to bring home.
