Most popular Christmas dishes. I do the same things every year when someone is coming over. I like to keep it simple. No hard dishes to make for me. Most stuff I make a day ahead of time and just reheat in the oven and serve. There is always lots of leftovers. These are things that make for a nice simple meal. Of course the main dish will take longer to cook. Like the turkey. You can pick and choose from a long list of yummy foods. You can have one or two of these dishes: Pork roast, turkey or ham. There are lots more meat dishes. But these are what we have. Than you need a potato: mashed or sweet. Or both. Green bean casseroles. ( which I have never eaten or had before). Plus raw celery, carrots, black olives .

keeping it simple is always best, in my opinion. I always cook the meat dish on the day guests will come over but may make homemade rolls the day before. Veggies can always cook on top of the stove the day guests will be over, too. A couple of years ago I made Shawarma for Christmas dinner. it was really good!

I have made food for a party of 30 people in my small electric oven. And I do it one day ahead.

We have different foods for Christmas, I am going to keep it simple now because we are only two. I remember that my mother always prepared a deboned capon stuffed with a mix of sausage, chestnuts, bread and walnuts, it was so good.

Ours is always ham and turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, corn, green beans, and rolls.
