Late but, I have an update.

Good evening. George and I got home about an hour and a half ago. I think the post-op appointment went well. Having to explain to George why they wanted to schedule a repeat EDG on the other hand, fun. Even more fun is that we did a little phone back and forth and managed to hopefully, get the medicine he needs.... two weeks later. But, good news, is they did call me back while we were in Winn-Dixie. Because I told George we needed to go shopping because we were almost out of milk. We did a QWalmart run on Monday, but because he had to walk and I couldn't find a cart, I didn't push for the milk then. But, I had no such excuses today.

I love carts instead of a cane to help me walk.

So he doesn’t have to have a replacement tube? Or is that what the test will be for….not trying to be overly nosy, I just remembered he didn’t want to have a tube. Was the doctor happy with the way his stomach was doing?

If you asked me, or any doctor with half a brain, they'd agree he should have a new feeding tube. However, he's considered compentant and capable of making his own decisions, and as you well know, if an adult is capable of making a decisin.... they cannot be forced to be treated or have things they do not want. So, no. he doesn't have a new tube.

@kaylachan I hope if they tell him at some point that it is essential for survival, he changes his mind. Stressful for you to deal with.

At least you arrived to get the medicine he needs. We did not go grocery shopping, but this can wait another two or three days.

Sometimes things never go like you want them to so you have to make things happen to get it done.
