In the news I read recently where a 65-year-old woman in Thailand was found alive in a coffin meant for cremation in a Buddhist Temple there. A staff member heard a faint knocking coming from inside the coffin and notified those in charge. The woman's brother had brought her there after she had become unresponsive and he thought she had passed away after a long illness. He had taken her to a nearby hospital to fulfill her wish to donate her organs but were unable to because she had no death certificate. The brother then brought her to the Temple for cremation and luckily her tapping on the coffin was heard and the manager of the Temple made sure she had the medical attention she needed. The death certificate law was very fortuitous for this lady. It just goes to show that laws are made for a reason, and they need to be upheld.

I wonder what repercussions resulted for the brother.

He thought she was gone and was trying to do what she had requested.

I read about this. It would have been horrific had she been put in for cremation.
