Housing Possibilities

I have posted about the possibility of moving and viewed many houses, but haven't found the right one yet. There was one I liked, but it sold so fast. The house I'm living in now had somebody else interested when we bought it, but they backed out because they didn't want to pay for flood insurance. Its a small amount and we don't get a lot of rain, so was surprised to end up here.
I have considered getting a room mate and not sell the house. One of my friends suggested a man and his teenage son. I would prefer somebody older like me, as I'm in bed early most of the time and need the house to be quiet. Do you have a room mate? Any tips would be welcome.

I am not sure how to find the right person so am also considering working more hours until my bills are lower in about 8 months. I will have all the medical bills paid off.

@Fishmomma It would be helpful to have some extra money coming in for a while.

I could not live with a teenager. Personally, I do not want a roommate. I like my own space and my own privacy.

@Fishmomma Yes, sometimes we do what we have to. I am hoping to start a job, soon--that should help with the bills.

I have already said no to that way of earning the money, as a teenager would be to much stress for me.

I can't quite imagine having a stranger living in a house with me. I can imagine renting the house out to strangers, but with me actually living there? Nah.
If I live there as well, I'd probably prefer it be a family member - cousin, niece, etc...

I don't have any relatives in this area, as the closest has a job in Northern California and I'm in Southern in a very large state. If I had a relative in the area who wanted to work out a deal, then it would have been a good option.

When I was in college so many years ago had a room mate and it was challenging at times. I think as a senior aged female it would be hard to make changes so drastic now.
