I've Got a Christmas Party to Go To Tonight

I want to go but I don't want to go. Make sense? It's our annual Girls' Christmas Party at my best friend's house. She lives about 20 minutes away. I enjoy it while I'm there, but getting there and back is not fun. It's supposed to start snowing tonight during the party and I don't want to drive my new car in the dark in the snow on the expressway. Plus I'm normally in bed already by the time the party starts, so it's throwing off my sleep schedule. The party is 3 hours from now and I still haven't made up my mind whether or not I'm going. I know I SHOULD go.

I was the same with a party going on today. It would have been good to go, but I wasn't feeling it, and it started too early.

IF you decide to go, just be careful, please.

It’s too bad they couldn’t have started the party earlier than they originally planned.

I went, had fun, but drove home stressfully in the snow/ice

@looeyville I decline all party invites as a rule. An unbreakable rule. They just depress me. Don’t understand them.

A new car, the party 20 minutes away, and snow. For me it would be an easy decision. I wouldn't go. Sleep doesn't make a good excuse not to go.

You should stay home. Driving in the snow in the dark is dangerous.

Your friend would understand if the weather is too bad and you don't feel comfortable driving.
