I was shocked that there was a mass shooting incident here in Australia with several fatalities. With such a complex interplay of factors, I am at a loss for words. It's been years since I was at Bondi Beach and a few months since our visit to Sydney, but this has hit us as close to home. I'm not gonna throw in politics, religion or laws into this, but a genuine prayer for all those affected. No pictures

I was also shocked by the news, especially since your country is rarely featured in headlines like this. I saw it on YouTube and was surprised to learn it involved a father-and-son duo, which, given their ethnicity, made me suspect it might be related to religion or ethnicity. What surprised me even more was hearing from local news that before the incident, they had visited my country and stayed on the southern island for almost a month before returning. I know that area has been a place where extremist Muslims have established themselves, though police have stated there’s no evidence they underwent training there.
