Dreadful week.

What an awful week. I always dread the week leading up to Christmas and all the fuss and blow that drags it down. And I’m useless at buying presents. No imagination. Furthermore, the 18th December is the anniversary of my forced repatriation to Ireland in 1971 when as a truculent teenager I was wrested from my African childhood idyl. Fifty four years ago today that was. And while I was in Manchester last week a cat betoiletted itself in my flower bed at the front of the house and the bulbs that I planted are sprouting through poo. However I found a book I’ve been looking for and was afraid that I’d thrown it out. I was fairly certain that I had not purposely off-loaded it to the charity shop because it’s in French, and I don’t get rid of French books - no a lot of call for such material in this mean little town. But I found it caught down the back of the bed so I’m rejoicing.

I’m glad you found your book. But I am sorry you were forced to move continents all those years ago. I can’t imagine how traumatic that was.

I hope that next week and Christmas finds you all jolly and happy, You think you had it tought when I was little my parents had a lot of Latvian friends so Christmas was expecially busy and like clockwork for about three Christmases when it got close about two weeks before the holiday I came down with all the chiclhood diseases like mumps and chicken pox etc, So there is mom all busy and invited to parties and having to decorate out apartment I am down for the count with high fever, Luckily I outgrew that,

And I got married in December 1971, fifty four years ago on the 27th. Cats poo is really something unpleasant and smelly, I am sorry for your plants.

I'm glad you found your book; but I'm sad that you had to relocate.

Just hide under the covers until Christmas is over and then get a fresh start on the New Year

I'm glad you've found something to be pleased about. Does your wife have any cats yet? I won't insult you by asking if you do! lol

@judyev No cats yet. We’re still away too often to be able for cats but the temptation may be too hard one of these days.
