Microsoft Rewards are weird

So, I was dismayed the other day that I could not get my 5 dollar Amazon card with more than 5,000 points. The price when I went to redeem was 6.500. Well anyway, I finally got to that point,,,went to redeem and it was back to 5,250. What the heck? Did they temporarily raise the price and put it back down? That's nuts.

I've been building mine up. Sometimes they promote redemption "specials" for fewer points, but 6500 is the normal amount required for $5

Last time I redeemed it was 5,250..and it is back to that again, at least it was this AM.
