The owner of the dog failed to control his dog that runs across the frozen lake. That's my presumption. I don't if it's right.

The owner admitted that he was careless watching over his pet.

I guess the dog was curious going for a walk near the lake.

Being from NJ I been up to Lake Mohawk in the Sparta area. Sparta is home to 11 private lake communities. With the cold weather freezing them over this kind of accident probably occurs every so often. That's one thankful Canine!

That was a good rescue, as the dog would have been on thin ice, once it got very cold, and could not have extricated itself from its situation, on its own.

Oh no! I would be frantic. I'm glad the senior dog is OK.
