Police officer rescues a dog put of an icy pond in Rhode Island

Portsmouth Rhode Island Police Department Officer Lieutenant Khatu Khubchandani risked his life on December 23 when he risked his life by entering an icy pond at the Montaup County Club to rescue a dog that had a hard time getting out of the pond under his or her own power.
After Officer Khubchandani rescued the dog, Animal Control officers checked the dog for any sickness of being rescued by the police officer to give the good news that the dog was safe to be reunited with his or her owner as well as get warm.
Hopefully the owner of the dog will learn a lesson to have a leash on his or her pet when walking near a frozen body of water.

Poor dog. It is very dangerous especially to those who rescue it. I hope the pet owner will be more responsible this time.

That looks like an old dog. It wouldn't have been pleasant having to go into an icy pond.
