This is weird

I bought two big chicken and mushroom patties from a Russian grocery store. I love to have them with mashed potatoes and a salad on the side. The printed label on the container says the weight is 0.69 lb., priced at $7.99/lb., total price $5.51. When I look at the receipt it says the weight is 0.79 lb., priced at $6.99/lb., total price $5.51. Now that is just weird. The item was scanned so the info on the receipt should be the same as that on the printed label. And if you do the math on the receipt the total actually comes out to $5.52 not $5.51.

There are many stores that change and manipulate their prices and it comes out on the receipt. Many don't check so they get away with it. Sounds like they need to check their machinery. A program is only as good as the programmer.

is it possible that the store miscalculated or there is a discount?

I have no idea. But whatever is scanned should match the printed label. I don’t remember what price it said on the shelf next to the item.
