12 Fruits for what?

Fruits for New Year
Chinese and Filipino believe that fruits may bring them goodluck for the new year.
I don't know how is this kind of belief. When they were alive, my parents didn't practice this. I had never seen any fruits on the tray on the table.
But my generation Z youngest daughter who is teacher by profession collected 13 different fruits and put them on the tray. They're apples for health and peace, orange for happiness and brightness, grapes for abundance, as they grow in bunches, pineapple for wealth and success? banana fot family unity, and watermelon for good fortune and togetherness.
I never question her. I respect and support her for there's nothing wrong with that tradition for new year. Fruits are good for one's health.
Have you heard that?

Bought some fruits too. Two kinds of fruits only. I don't believe in superstitions; like you, I respect people's preferences.

Traditions are important for many. Gives them hope I suppose.
Fruits are great any time.
