Yes, that's right. There were firecrackers' sounds on the days before the New Year's Eve, last night too and will probably last until the kids here go to school, which is on January 12.
They really have long winter holidays and Croatia, my country, celebrates 2 days of Christmas as a non working day, plus today and January 6.
Don't know which day is anymore. Did you have peaceful New Year's Eve, any wishes for this year?:)

We heard fireworks going off from 9 pm until a few minutes after midnight last night. Even though it's illegal to shoot them off except for the 4th of July, the US birthday celebration. The police won't do anything unless you can annoy the mayor enough for him to make the police do something.
I hope the New Year is more peaceful and less chaotic that 2025 was,
Happy New Year, by the way and welcome to myLot.

@valherma00 You're very welcome. And yes, I'm here almost every day unless I can't see to read/write on myLot.

We had a very peaceful quiet Xmas and New Year.
Just how we like it these days
We did used to be party people but not now

I don't like fireworks - no need for them at all

For once, our fireworks genuinely seemed to start and stop on New Year’s. Which is a relief because we usually get illegal ones for days prior to December 31st and January first. Which is good since fireworks bother animals so much, and I hate the thought of animals being in distress.
Happy New Year!

i'm glad it's according to regulations in your place. it's harmful to both people and animals but since there are animal lovers out there, you would think that people will think wisely but no; only due to that bang sound, they have to risk everyone's safety and health. thank you.

Welcome to myLot!
My New Year's Eve was quiet--I went to bed early because I wasn't feeling well.
