Day two of the year: Thieves steal my already transplanted duranta fencing seedlings

A well managed durantas hedge. I hope to have one around my cottages and homestays

As part of my New Year Plans, I intend to fence my entire estate and slowly turn it into a safer place for cottage or eco-homestay. I therefore used most of my December holidays raising some fencing seedlings of a beautiful variety. I in fact planted some in one of my estate’s sides. Interestingly, I just woke up on 2nd Jan. 2016 to find several up-rooted and missing. I will have to make routine guarding in hope of catching or scaring away the thieves since I have not yet installed an alarm or CCTV system.

Its very pretty, but what you can do and maybe you already are. Teach people in the area how they can do the same. Then remind them, you can steal and be alive for another day or you can learn yourself and live a lifetime.

Thank you for your opinion. But some people are just lazy. They prefer soft work

That would be so frustrating that people are stealing your plants. I hope you're able to stop it.

Sure, I move around at a time when everything is quite and try to see if I can catch one. I also spread a warning poster delivering a message of dire consequences should one be found committing the offense
