So I was reading a story, and it just made my heart happy so I’m sharing. A married couple and their daughter went to a shelter to adopt a dog after mourning the death of their previous dog. They came upon a puggle (beagle/pug), and once isolated with the couple and their daughter (daughter is blind and has seizures), they got along well.
A few days after they’d been home, the dog (now called Addie) started barking and jumping around the daughter. A few minutes later, the daughter had a grand mal seizure. The dog could apparently predict them. So the mom made some calls to put Addie in training to be certified. But that’s not the end. Through no extra training, the dog can also detect cellulitis in the dad and an upcoming migraine for the mom. It’s amazing.
I know so many of you go to rescues and shelters. Adopting, not shopping, is the best. Some people want designer dogs. Well hey, this dog was a puggle! You never know.

That's a big help to the foster parents of Addie. They're blessed in return by adopting Addie.

How ironic that they adopted Addie and that she is able to predict when the daughter was going to have a seizure.
Dogs are remarkable when it comes to things like that. I bet Addie is a cute

That is a heart touching story. The bond between humans and dog is magical and beyond words at times. First of all, hat off to the family who decides to go to dog shelter. The dog then adapts well to family and is now protecting the daughter and father. The story is definitely touching. It feels like an angel guarding their lives and home. I guess dogs can sense things that people do not fully understand. What makes this story more interesting is the fact without formal training, the dog is able to detect cellulitis and migraines. Stories like this remind us how intuitive and empathetic dogs can be. It really highlights how much untapped potential shelter animals have. Perhaps they have more empathy than designer breeds. I definitely agree adopting does changes lives for better and the best! Thanks for sharing!
