The Road

The road looks sad. No, not metaphorically. There's this road getting cemented and the sun is refusing to shine. Everytime I look at the road, I feel sad. It cannot get dried. The water stays and it remains wet. They've blocked all other sidewalks. Mindless people have left their tyre marks, or in other words their foolishness. It's a big deal now to even walk up to the nearby shop to buy essentials.
Till a few days ago we were complaining about the despicable condition it was in. Mindless driving and municipal apathy!
Now that it's getting a new look, a new garb, we are mourning about the pathetic condition we are left with...we, who have our homes facing the road.
Who is at fault? The road or us?

Sometimes improvement does bring unwanted challenges. The road -once a constant source of complaint has transformed into new kind of frustration. Earlier, the unfinished road was mirror of helplessness to people living near the same. The lack of access and blocked pathways turned tasks into exhausting ones. Add to all this carelessness from people. Now it is chaotic. The road is neve the problem. It is our impatience. Discomfort of today will not erase the necessity of repair. The fault lies within us for sure!

As the other outlets are closed, one gentleman, a neighbor deliberately made way through a side, with his scooter. Though he was warned, he flaunted his vehicle making it easy for others to venture on his footsteps.

They have taken measures to keep the other outlets blocked but that's causing hindrance for everyone to carry on their daily work...sacrifices are being made. People are taking different routes on finding the road blocked. My sister walked almost 7km today to the market...But there are some people who move around like headless chickens...road construction is also going on elsewhere and they haven't come to check yet. The sun was low, the road was watery.

@mytunemagic When the road was built, was it clearly visible that they were building a pedestrian walkway? If not, you and the local community should complain to the local government so that the road can be built for pedestrians. If not, there should be one.
