Talk About Lightning Striking Twice

There was a fatal car accident about 7 miles from my house this morning in Louisville, Kentucky.
But it's the saddest freakiest thing, like lightning striking the same person twice.
A woman was in a car accident at 7:30 am and there were no injuries in the accident. The two drivers called the police. At some point the woman in one of the two cars got out of her wrecked car, it was 7:30 am so it was still dark outside, and got hit by another car coming down the road, killing her.
So police responding to a non-injury accident ended responding to a fatal accident.
Can you believe the bad luck of that woman to be in two car accidents in a matter of minutes?

That's sad and unnexpected. I can see why she'd want to get out of the wrecked car, but unless there was risk of a fuel leak or something I would've stayed put.

Yes, when she didn't check the road before stepping out of her vehicle. Even at 7:30 am, the other vehicle should have had headlights on if they were on a road/highway, so clearly visible.

Yes, that happens all too often. Someone stops because of something minor and then they are hit by some other vehicle. In one instance I remember a man stopped to help someone who had broken down, and then another vehicle collided with something and the engine flew out and took his leg off! Luckily he survived, but still... it puts you off stopping to help!
