Hectic Days - 1/8/26

Hey everyone, how are you all doing? Hopefully well.
Here it's been stressful. First of all - Eli's behavior has not been the best. However that's a whole other discussion.
Then there is the weather - last night the rain turned to snow and woke up to more than just a coating. It's stopped and the skies are blue now but the roads aren't the best still. Sad that our weather turned snowy and cold...was enjoying it being warmer and just rainy.
The last - my mom's car is having issues. She has one that has a push to start ignition rather than a key. Hopefully the batteries to the fobs are just both weak. She had the issue after going to the store yesterday and I had to go get her, we got the back up remote and it worked...but later the back up wouldn't work. Couldn't even unlock the doors, that's how bad the issue was.
We tried the physical key, that is for emergencies....but then the car alarm started going off like it was being broke into.
Needless to say, I took her to work early this morning in the snow. Hoping that it is not a sign that her actual car battery needs replaced...I know how to charge a battery but not replace one!
So yeah that's been our last day or so...
Photo is mine - old photo of snow...need to get a new one I guess.

I'm glad you were able to replace the remote battery and solve the problem. Have a better weekend. I hope Eli's attitude improves.

Don't know how better it will be now that winter decided to show up :(
But glad that fixed the car, and don't have to worry anymore.
As for Eli's attitude, I just hope as he ages he'll mature and stop being so disrespectful and all

Please send the snow this way. We have rain and the grass is green.
I'm sorry your mom's car is having a lot of issues. I hope she can get it fixed soon. It's good you could take her to work.

@MommyOfEli2013 I'm glad the remotes needed new batteries and all is well now.

I'll trade in a heartbeat! A lot of the snow is gone already, at least on the roads.
We got it fixed, just the remotes needed new batteries. The car is supposed to tell her when they get low but didn't this time.

@MommyOfEli2013 Oh, boy, that is a problem with it being an hour away.

@AmbiePam Yes it is, but if it is just that the remote batteries needing replaced that is easy - but the car should tell her when the battery is low. But it just says that the "key cant be detected". If we can't start it, can't take it to the dealership.

It is just really bad because she needs it to get to work...and she goes so early in the morning...may have to help her again tomorrow unless we can get it figured out today. Not sure she could even take it to the dealership (an hour away).

By the picture it looks cold and white where you are.
I hate car troubles. Hope it is an easy fix.

Well that is an old picture, but it did look similar just after the snow storm.
It was an easy fix.

My car alarm prefers if I use the fob and not the key, too, but it will still let me in the car, and then I can turn it off by locking the doors. Still not ideal when my fob battery is weak. The more technology on a vehicle, the more there is to go wrong. Hope it's a simple fix!

Didn't think about turning it off by locking the doors. Have to try that next time. Yes, more tech is not always good lol. I think I prefer my older, not smart car!

@MommyOfEli2013 I know I like my older (2000) car. My husband has a new one, and I don't like the big screen (he adores it). To each their own!

@AliCanary Mine's from the early 2000s too...works very well. That's great you like your older one...a big screen doesn't sound too bad...I'd love some features from newer cars, but I think I'd do without the remote start thing lol

It could very possibly be the battery. Most places you buy them will replace them too.
