U.S. Food Pyramid Changes, YAY!

Finally, looks like the Trump Admin may have gotten one right.
Check out that top left corner. Yeah baby, looks like Carnivore has just invaded the top of the charts. And it’s about time.
Notice how there are no “vegetable” seed oils on this chart.
Anywhere.
The good ones, of course, like olive oil and avocado oil (sometimes coconut) are perfectly fine, and they belong here. But I’ll still choose good ole butter, tallow, and bacon fat over oil any day.
The naughty oils like canola, soybean, fake margarines etc. are nowhere to be found here. Aka “vegetable oils.”
These are the ones high in omega 6’s, these are the ones that have hexane and bleach, and these are the ones that cause widespread inflammation, which causes inflammation of the arteries, and then the body sends in the plaque. The arterial plaque will continue to accumulate as long as there is inflammation in the body from these chemically manufactured seed oils. After that, here come the heart attacks, strokes, stents, and open heart surgeries.
This food pyramid change is a step in the right direction, and the voices of the Carnivore/low carb/organic communities are finally being heard.
Many Carnivore docs that have been silenced or ridiculed are finally getting their day in the sun.
And they deserve it.
Because all they’ve been trying to do is tell people the truth.
It’s a good day.

And they deserve it.
Because all they’ve been trying to do is tell people the truth.
It’s a good day.

What kinds of fat were you eating when you were younger?
P.S. Bean, veg, and fruit - all sound like good choices to me. Because they’re natural. Thanks Lenore

@Melanie_Marie I was raised on hamburger and ham on holidays. I still love bacon but am not indulging now. My Mom didn't have a lot of money. We ate a lot of canned food, including sweet tomato soup and cream of mushroom soup. I headed into adulthood and realized why my insides hurt- fiber from whole grains and fresh fruit and vegies increased my health a whole lot.

@sallypup That’s good. Yeah, I’m guessing the canned stuff was the biggest culprit. Hey I did it too, lots of canned spaghetti-ooooo’s, mac ‘n cheese, etc. with toast and butter.

WHat's healthy is also very subjective. You're going to find someone somewhere that swears that this or that is good for you, then decide tomorrow it's not. Remember what was considered a 'healthy breakfast' in the 60's? Now is nightmare fuel?

That’s why I just keep it simple and natural. Thank you Kayla

My favorite bartender told me great advice one time. Bad things make us happy but does not mean its best for your body.
I really never cared, my body tells me what I need. Always has, whether I listen or not is a different story.
While I like the food pyramid upside down, some people will take it serious not knowing the ramifications it could do. Also corporate world goes where government goes in prices. Meaning what people need is not what they will get. Trump has money to pay for his bad habits, most people do not and most adults may not care either, but when it messes with their kids, they get mad.

Hey crossXbones, I like that bartender’s advice.
Did you know they did a study on people that quit smoking, and half of them actually got worse?
The stress of quitting really did them in, and they developed all kinds of immune and nerve-related issues like rosacea, asthma, neuropathy, Hashimoto’s, etc. One even needed an emergency stent put in, when before, while they were still smoking, the artery was clear.
Interesting stuff!

@Melanie_Marie Red Wrong about red meat. Research indicates that red meat contributes to heart disease, due to its high saturated fat content. Cats and dogs should never eat red meat, in fact in nature cats catch birds and little animals, they do not eat steaks. Being carnivores does not necessarily means "red meat", it only means meats including fish that cats love.

@Melanie_Marie - Wll dogs should not eat a lot of red meats and even less bones. Italy is one of the nations with the highest life expectancy. We have different regions and a very different diet. The region with more people over 100 is Sardinia. They do not eat red meat at all and they do not drink cow milk, they eat a lot of veggies.
The region with the lowest life expectancy is Emilia Romagna, they grow pigs there and eat a lot of pork meat. This says it all.

@LadyDuck Oh I agree, but dogs eat a lot of red meat. Plus bones. The kitties go after more of the poultry and fish, you are absolutely right. But red meat for humans, it’s just as safe as any other meat, including chicken, pork, seafood.
Now, if you PAIR red meat with dangerous things like sugar (think BBQ ribs) now we’ve got trouble. It is higher in saturated fat, yes. But fat doesn’t make people fat. Stress, inflammation, seed oils, preservatives, and too much sugar, this is how people get fat. Lack of sleep is another one.
