Do you prefer Oceans or mountains?

As you know, I cruise a lot, so you'd think my answer would be oceans. That depends. I don't like beaches. I don't like sitting in the sun or hanging around at the beach. I used to like walking in the sand along the beach but now it's too hard for me. Mountains are beautiful. I once booked a cabin in Gatlinburg, TN in the Great Smoky Mountains and had a wonderful weekend. Which do you prefer, oceans or mountains, and why?

Mountains all day, every day. I find a peace in the mountains I could never find near the ocean. Obviously, the ocean is magnificent, but the mountains are beautiful beyond measure, to me.

Oceans. I like to watch and listen to the waves.

I have a marginal preference for oceans, but also love the mountains.

I drowned when I was 18 and am scared of heights. I prefer forests and meadows... *shrug*

I've always been a mountain person, especially the Sierras. You can smell the pine and the air is so fresh and clean. In Oregon and Washington, the air is pretty clean but the humidity keeps the fragrance of pine away and not the same. It's still beautiful and I love it. We have both mountains and ocean close. Mt Rainier is gorgeous. If you ever get to WA, make a plan to go visit.

Even though I'm not a good swimmer I prefer the ocean. Something about the calmness I think appeals to me. Sitting on the beach in summer, going for a dip to cool off, watching the surfers ride the waves in, seeing the sandpipers running along the shoreline provides not only a peaceful feeling, but entertainment too. Although I've got nothing against mountains. Those Great Smoky Mountains sounds like fun!
