Movie time

Going to a recent release rajasaab This time I carried my own snacks like active popcorn chicken puff and few sweets prepared for pongal fesitval.Maximum theatres in my part of country won't allow outside food into the theatre.We know the manager here.so he allowed us with snacks. Do you know why don't they usually allow food ?

I think it is not allowed in any theater, even in my own country. You need to buy from their own snack store.

We would buy if they sell at a reasonable price.Here the snacks costs two movie tickets per head

Yes, I do know why food usually isn't allowed brought in when you go to a movie theater. Selling food/drinks is how the theaters make most of their money. They only make about a dollar from each person buying a ticket to see the movies. The rest of your ticket cost goes to the company renting the movies you watch. The theater still has to pay for the theater itself, the people selling tickets and those selling the food and drink inside. Here, you have to sneak snacks into the theaters if you don't want to pay the high cost of the food/drinks after you're inside the theater.

Yes they are priced high.we can watch two movies with price of single bucket of popcorn.Literally we cannot sit quite for a movie without snacks.There are times we got meal into the theatre when I lost appetite or uninterested to eat at home.we take meal into theatre and There I supposed to eat while watching movie.

@Kusumakrishna Yes, used to carry enough food into the theaters here for Pretty and I to eat while we watched and we'd just buy something to drink while there. We stopped going to theaters since we can watch the same movies almost as soon as they come out in theaters at home and have anything we want to eat or drink right from our own kitchen. I offered you a movie link we use... Have you checked to see if you can get the movies you want to watch on it? I KNOW this link works around the world.

Theaters make a heck of a lot of their profits from snacks and drinks. Since Covid, they are losing money. Allowing outside food and drinks greatly shrink their profits. It’s unfortunate the concessions are usually three times the cost of the tickets.

when i went to the movies, i smuggled snacks in my bag. i am glad you know the manager. they want to make more money, i think.
